Fixing Climate Communications: How to move beyond narrow narratives to power durable progress

A Discussion with CLF and John Marshall

In recent years, we’ve witnessed “climate hushing” from leaders facing political headwinds. The research shows that's the wrong lesson. The question isn’t whether we should talk about climate change. It’s how.

New research from Potential Energy Coalition, supported by The Rockefeller Foundation and drawing on more than 83,000 people, finds that many of today's dominant climate narratives are too narrow and too easy to portray as expensive, disruptive, or disconnected from everyday life. As a result, they shrink support for climate progress rather than expand it.

John will share actionable and data-backed insights on how leaders and organizations can move people to support climate action by centering messaging on what is grounded in people’s everyday realities and priorities.

Please bring your questions! This discussion will feature a Q&A.
