Amara Ifeji, Youth Activist – A freshman at Northeastern University pursuing a B.S in Politics, Philosophy, & Economics with a concentration in Environment and Energy Policy. She also works with the Nature-Based Education Consortium (NBEC) on state- and federal-level environmental education policy advocacy and serves on the Maine Climate Council Equity Subcommittee. For her work in promoting environmental education, she was awarded the Global North American Environmental Education 30 Under 30 International Award and the National Geographic Young Explorer Award.

Dr. Thea James, Public Health Expert – Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine. She also serves as the Associate Chief Medical Officer, Vice President of Mission, and Director of the Violence Intervention Advocacy Program (VIAP) at Boston Medical Center. She is also a Supervising Medical Officer on the Boston Disaster Medical Assistance Team, under the Department of Health and Human Services. 

Elizabeth Rush, Professor/Author – Recipient of fellowships from the National Science Foundation, National Geographic, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, the Howard Foundation, Oregon State University’s Spring Creek Project, the Society for Environmental Journalism, the National Society of Science Writers and the Metcalf Institute.  She teaches at Brown University and is currently at work on a book about motherhood and Antarctica’s diminishing glaciers.

Rev. Mariama White-Hammond, Pastor/Activist – Founding pastor of New Roots AME Church in Dorchester. Rev. Mariama is active in secular and interfaith justice efforts. In particular, she uses an intersectional lens in her ecological work, challenging folks to see the connections between immigration and climate change or the relationship between energy policy and economic justice. She is a fellow with the Green Justice Coalition which brings together 8 social/environmental justice groups from around Massachusetts.

RSVP through this event page! You will then be sent an email containing the link and information on how to join the discussion.

If I RSVP do I need to attend all four days of the series on the day each conversatoin airs?

While we hope you can join us for all of these conversations, you do not need to tune-in to all of the broadcasts at 10:00 AM the day they air. All four events will be recorded and the link to watch later on will be sent to you via email.
