Underground gas pipes used to heat and power our buildings often leak – and those leaks can pose a serious danger to our health and our climate. They even kill our neighborhoods’ precious street trees.
Although these leaks need to be fixed, the fact remains that natural gas is a dangerous and outdated way of heating and powering our buildings.
It’s past time for utilities across New England to put polluting fossil fuels behind us and embrace more sustainable options like clean electric power.
Add your name to the petition to tell the utility companies: It's time to fully transition from faulty gas infrastructure to safe and climate-friendly systems, like heat pumps. Pilot projects by National Grid and Eversource have already proven that heat pumps are safer and more efficient.
