Protect Vermont from Unchecked Data Center Development

Legislators are considering overriding Governor Scott’s attempt to veto a bill that would protect Vermont residents from the impacts of any new data center. The bill would ensure data centers won’t affect our energy costs or utility service, operate in a way that doesn’t pollute the environment with toxins and emissions, and invest in local communities so our neighbors are supported. As data centers expand rapidly across the country, Vermont has the opportunity to be leaders in protecting people from dangerous, unchecked growth. Data centers shouldn’t raise my bills or pollute my community. Please vote to override Governor Scott’s veto of H.727. 

Vermonters like me deserve a data center policy that protects customers, safeguards our environment, and ensures public oversight and accountability. This bill does exactly that. If data centers are going to develop in Vermont, they need to be required by law to do it the right way. 

So please, vote to override the veto of H.727. I’m counting on you to put my interests over those of big corporations.
