Save the Right Whales from Accidental Entanglements

Right whales deserve an ocean they can navigate safely, without the risk of becoming entangled in fishing gear, threatening the survival of the entire species. Your congresspeople are considering leaving right whales even more vulnerable for almost another decade.

Those are years that this critically endangered species can’t afford. Please tell your congresspeople to stand strong against this attack.

Please oppose H.R.9436, the bill that further delays new regulations on the lobster and crab industries necessary to protect our North Atlantic right whales. Fishing gear entanglements are a leading killer of these critically endangered whales.  

Waiting until 2028 is already risky. Waiting until 2035 would be deadly. 

We’re still more than two years away from the current deadline of December 31, 2028. This proposal has no basis in law or science. It would also eliminate any opportunity for experts or the public to provide input. 

North Atlantic right whales deserve an ocean where they can swim safely. Don’t vote for H.R.9436.
